You hear so much these days about people being offended and, although we should never set out to intentionally cause offence for the sake of it, if our views and opinions rub others up the wrong way then that’s their issue and not ours.
For example, I’m a Bible-believing evangelical Christian and there will inevitably be people who will be offended by my views. However, for as much as I want to be sensitive in how I communicate, ultimately it’s not my problem if what I believe makes some feel insulted or hurt.
Today’s verse is from Proverbs 12:16 and The Passionate Translation .
If you shrug off an insult and refuse to take offense, you demonstrate discretion indeed.
But the fool has a short fuse and will immediately let you know when he’s offended.
