Today’s Wednesday Words of Wisdom is inspired by two song thrushes that were singing their hearts out yesterday morning, when I was fishing at first light. Nothing unusual with that – either me fishing or the birds singing – but in this instance there was a named storm passing through.

While Storm Chandra manifested itself with 40 mph+ winds and driving rain, the birds were singing as if it were the height of summer. Whatever was going on around them them was of no concern. They just carried on doing their thing.

In Acts 16, Paul and Silas were in prison and, at midnight, they were praying and praising. Just like the birds I encountered, they didn’t allow external circumstances to dictate to them.
