The highs of the exciting England 4-2 win against Croatia have been replaced with the disappointment of drawing 0-0 with Ghana. Many football fans experience these range of emotions, that depend on things over which they have no control.

I love the principle that we find in 2Corinthians 5:7, which tells us, ‘For we walk by faith, not by sight’. In other words don’t live in accordance with our emotions but faith. Facts not feelings. Of course, ‘sight’ can also mean that we focus on what we see rather than what our minds are telling us.

It’s all about context, however I’m sure you get the gist of the message that I’m trying to communicate on this occasion. It’s all about seeing the big picture of life rather than allowing one small part of it to take us over.
