Welcome to The Church at Hiraeth, that my wife and I launched from November, 2023. Initially the online services were posted via my own personal website and you can check them out here: 2023 and 2024.
After four decades of full-time and full-on ministry, although I’m enjoying my retirement (or so I thought it was) very much indeed, I don’t intend to ever hang up my Bible. In fact, I believe that God still has work for me to do and that was very much part of moving the ministry to its own designated web space and URL.
The Church at Hiraeth isn’t intended to be a replacement for ‘real’ church on a Sunday morning. If you are a Christian already, and you are encouraged by our ministry though, that’s great.
Or perhaps you’re not there yet but you’re searching, curious or inquisitive. If so, The Church at Hiraeth is perfect, because you can view anonymously and explore at your own pace.
You may be wondering about the word ‘hiraeth’. Well, it’s the name of our bungalow and it is my favourite Welsh word. It doesn’t have an exact English translation but it is a longing for something that has passed, so words such as ‘nostalgia’, ‘homesickness’ and ‘yearning’ come to mind.
As far as doctrinal position is concerned, we are evangelical, Bible-believing Christians and in agreement with the Evangelical Alliance statement of beliefs.
