I have been learning a lot of new songs for Church lately, so that has been my focus as far as my listening choices. If I need to become familiar with a new song I have to listen to it on a loop in my ear until it sticks. When I’m going round the house humming the melody it’s safe to say I’ve grasped it.
It was a pleasure to have the song I have chosen firmly stuck in my head all day, so I thought that was the best one to share with you all. Not that I didn’t like the others of course, more that this one was something special.
‘Living Hope’ is a modern Church worship song written by Phil Wickham and Brian Johnson. They actually wrote it by sending text messages back and forth between themselves and what an amazing outcome.
In a video interview that I found online on what the song meant to him, Phil Wickham says, ‘God has rescued us from a place that we could never have rescued ourselves. Our future was death, but Jesus came in and brought life – a living hope – into our souls and into our lives.’
It’s a perfectly themed song for the approaching Easter season so I will leave you to listen and enjoy.
