A Little Bit Of This And A Little Bit Of That
The weeks have rolled by and this Sunday it’s my turn to lead the service at the church we attend.
-
Song Of The Last Generation
I was about 13 when I first discovered him as Ishmael United. I was completely taken by the punk/ska style songs he was making. I went to see him perform at a local church with my parents, and I remember him wearing a boiler suit and dancing pogo style as he was singing.

Mr. Chris T. Ian
Another track that I liked, is one that I know originally as a church song, but it has been given a very interesting makeover with a few additional lyrics added too. I liked the original version, but this is even better.
-
The King Is Alive
Thankfully, the story doesn’t end there, and three days later Jesus rose from the grave and defeated death. Tommee Profitt and Phil Wickham have come up with an amazing version of the traditional hymn ‘He Arose’. I’ve chosen a video of their performance here.

Road Trip
It made me think that so often we spend time going over things in our head and trying to work scenarios and situations that may be arising. But simply all we need to do is trust God, because He has it all in hand.

G-R-A-C-E
My musical search continues this week with the letter H, and I have two great bands to share with you today. First up we’re going to have a little bit of country music with Harry Love And The Hell Stompers. I couldn’t pass them by with a name like that, and I wasn’t disappointed.
-
Hell Shakes
This week we are looking at my selections for the letter G. I have come across, what I consider to be, some great finds for you this week. Quite different to my normal style but I am liking them very much.
-
Commissioned
My reason for liking them so much is that we saw them live at a Church event, where my youngest daughter was also playing with her band at the time.
-
Never Beyond Repair
Well, we have made it to the letter E, and I’ve not found this an easy one. However, I kept searching and have come up with, what I consider to be, a few gems.

Anchor Me
Decyfer Down are my winners for the D’s. Their two tracks I have selected couldn’t be further apart in their style, which goes to show how versatile some of these bands can be.
