As I wrote in my last blog entry, we were visiting a ladies’ fellowship this week and, as always, we had a great time. We have got to know them all quite well now and always look forward to our visits.
I was asked to sing two songs, and we looked at the first one I sang in my last blog post, which was ‘His Eye Is On The Sparrow’. The second song, that we are exploring today, is called ‘Your Love Never Fails’.
This one covers a topic that has been mentioned on several occasions in our Upper Room services and, unknown to me, was what Stewart based his message on for the ladies’ meeting. We all go through hard times at some point, but they don’t last forever and, as the song says, “There may be pain in the night, but joy comes in the morning”.
God never fails us; He is always there, and we don’t have to worry or be afraid, because He is always in control and knows everything about us.
Chris McClarney and Anthony Skinner wrote the song back in 2008. In an interview with Cross Rhythms, Chris said, “I feel it is a song for right now – especially given the climate of struggle economically and politically. It reflects all of the craziness that happens in normal life. This song says, ‘I know all things work together for my good.’”
He said that back in 2010 but it is just as relevant today. As a lot of the lyrics are taken from Bible passages and therefore the song will always be relevant, as God’s love, along with all Biblical truths, never changes.
I have found a few different recordings to share with you, to make it more interesting. The first, has to be the original by Chris McClarney. I’ve found a ‘New Song Cafe’ video with an interview that he did along with a unique live performance; it even shows how to play it and you can watch that here.

However it’s performed, it’s always a great song, with a great message, of a great God that will never fail us.
