Inspired By A Church In Burslem, It’s A Lion Theme This Week

Each week I watch a live recording of the morning service from a Church in Burslem (Staffordshire), which my youngest daughter attends. It’s often after the event, as I am in Church myself at the time it goes out, but I always enjoy sitting down at some point, usually Sunday evening, and taking in the service. I love the worship time as they sing a lot of the songs that I personally like.

One in particular, in a recent recording I watched, was one of my favourites called ‘Lion And The lamb’. I love the imagery of God being a Lion and, as the song says, ‘He is roaring with power and fighting our battles’. You can watch here. I make no apologies for the version I have chosen, I know I have shared this before but I do like Seventh Day Slumber. I also like the film screen backdrop on this particular video, depicting the Lion of Judah.

I have been looking for other songs depicting ‘The Lion Of Judah’ and here is a track called simply ‘Lion’, sung by Chris Brown and Brandon lake. Another great song, with very powerful words. I have found a video here, made of scenes from one of the ‘Narnia’ movies, where Aslan the lion is a great and wise leader who sacrifices himself to save others, just as Jesus Christ did. Very powerful imagery, and more importantly, as Jesus did, the lion rises again to finally conquer all evil.

Last, but by no means least, I have a track for you by an artist called Loreal Seeks Christ. Quite different to the other songs I have shared today, but it has the same message, and is called ‘The Lion And The Lamb’. You can find it here.

Revelation 5:5: “Then one of the elders said to me, ‘Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed.’”

I wish you all a good week and I will be back with more Christian music next Friday.
