I can’t believe we are now in October; how the weeks fly by. We are back to my alphabet quest today, with the letter R, and I am revisiting a band that I discovered many years ago, with one particular EP that they released. That was all I really knew of them, so I have been listening to their other material for a few weeks now, and I am finding myself selecting their playlist more and more.
The band in question is Rock And Roll Worship Circus who, in 2005, changed their name to The Listening. Back in the days before music streaming, I often used to buy a random CD from Eden Christian bookstore online. They regularly had music in the sale and sometimes you could get them for a very good price.
It’s been a while ago now, but I’m pretty sure this is how I first discovered The Rock And Roll Worship Circus. Oddly enough, the EP that I bought was called ‘The Listening’.
I disposed of all my CDs when we moved home, as they took up a lot of space, and with streaming I was not using them as much, so I was a little sad when I discovered the EP was not available on streaming platforms. Thankfully, though, I have found it on YouTube.
I have two other albums from them on Spotify, but there was one particular track that I was looking for, on the old EP called ‘I Love The Rain’. This was the song that really made me take notice of them in the first place. I really loved it, it has such beautiful words. I love the whole unique sound of this band, especially the haunting lead vocals. You can listen here.
Another track that I really like, from one of their other albums, is ‘The Undiscovered’. It amazes me how they can keep the guitar riff going right through the song; here’s a video of them performing live and I think it’s always nice to see who you’re listening to.
Come To The Father here, Loving You here and We Sing Glory here, are also favourites of mine. They also have a great song, that’s based on the Beatitudes from Matthew 5: 3-12 in the Bible, called ‘Blessed Tune (We Will Sing forever One Day)’, you can find that here.
I’m so glad I revisited Rock And Roll Worship Circus, and I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to them over the last few weeks. I hope you also like what I have chosen to share with you.
I love to watch live concert videos, so if this blog has piqued your interest, and you want to listen more, I will just place one here for you before I go. This is part two of the concert, you can find the others alongside if you wish.
Enjoy, and I’ll be back next week.
