We have recently been on holiday to Trearddur Bay on Anglesey; vacations mean road trips, and road trips mean a music playlist. Normally, as I have said in a previous blog, I have my own music in my ear while something different may be playing in the car.
This time Stewart joined me, listening to my ‘Blog Favourites’ playlist through the car speakers. Stewart loves the gospel drum and bass tracks, but, as he found out along the way, my playlist has so much more and is an extremely eclectic mix of styles.
As it’s my blog favourites tracks I have shared a lot of them before, but there are a few new ones that I have added that I can share today. I personally love to switch it up and, when listening to music, my tracks can go from full-on rock to a quiet ballad and then from drum and bass to a worship song. I always select shuffle as well, so that I can’t predict what will come next.
Stephen Stanley is a big favourite of mine and ‘Idols’ is a new release that I have been enjoying. There’s lots of power to this one and I love it. You can listen here. I must also include this short, amusing video that he made to introduce the song here.
It’s drum and Bass up next, with a brilliant collaboration called ‘PRAISE’, from Blazer, King Jims, Cerose and ANGLER. With these four together, it has to be a great result. The lyrics are all truly inspired and always bring a clear message of salvation. It never ceases to amaze me how they all fit together, it really is a true talent. You can listen here.
I haven’t blogged on this band, but they are on my playlist, so I’m going to include them because I think it’s a great track. The band is Nine Lashes and the song is called ‘In The Dark’ here. I love the heavy rock sound, with a touch of screamo. I’m not sure Stewart was as keen on this one as he doesn’t share my love of rock, but he does share my passion for Christian music and, as long as it’s Christian, he will give it a go.
Finally, here’s a track that has become my favourite from K3ndrick. I found it after I had shared my blog with his music, so I really wanted to include it this time. I especially love the video he has made, it’s a really clever setting, I think. The track is called ‘Hands of God’ and you can watch here. I do love the way he sings and I especially like the lyrics on this one too.
Well, you have had a small insight into our road trip and there were 42 tracks in total. All of them Christian, all very different styles, but all of them amazing in their own way. I can’t say what genres I like best, but all I know is that I love Christian music.
Wishing you all a good week and I’ll be back next Friday with a band that is quite different. Watch this space…
