The challenge this week was to find an artist or band beginning with the letter Q. I did wonder if I would be able to find anything. I have in fact, found just one, but that is all I need. I didn’t want to find something and say that would do, as such, as I like the music I share to be actually something that I would listen to and enjoy myself. Therefore, I was really pleased when I came across Quasarpro and actually liked what I heard.
A few of his tracks are in collaboration with a band called Alive City and it’s three of these that I have chosen to share today. Both artists have quite a unique style and the blend of the two works really well I think.
I can’t find much information about Quasarpro other than he is a hip hop artist from Michigan City, known for his emotional music that resonates with believers. On his Spotify profile he has the words; “Jesus is your only hope. 1 Peter 1:18-19”. Wise words indeed.
‘Missing Piece’ is the first song I’d like to share and it has something about it that makes you want to listen again; it certainly puts a smile on my face. Quasarpro certainly brings something a little different and I really like it. Great lyrics too; God is the missing piece in our lives, He completes us. The official music video is here.
The next two tracks, ‘God Like Mine’ here and ‘Free’ here, are also becoming firm favourites of mine. They have made it to my ‘Blog Favourites’ playlist and they have to be good to get on there. They are very feel-good songs with great lyrics. I’m quite liking Alive City after hearing these tracks. They are a brother and sister duo who write, produce and record everything themselves. I will have to revisit them in their own right at some point.
