I came across a new radio station app the other day, called ‘Garden Of Grace Christian Radio’. I downloaded it to my phone but then completely forgot about it. Well, on discovering it once more, this time on my phone, I decided to give it a whirl.
The first track I heard was already half way through and I had missed the DJ’s introduction, however I liked it so much that I had to leave the app and search on google for the artist and song. I managed to get some of the words so it was easy to find. I then abandoned the radio and looked up the artist on Spotify.
The song was called ‘Running Back To You’ by Seph Schlueter, who was previously a missionary and is passionate about writing songs that move people and create opportunities for them to encounter God. If you are wondering how to pronounce his name, as I was, there is a short tutorial from the man himself here
Now that is cleared up, let’s get back to the song. The words are based on the story of the prodigal son, which was a parable that Jesus told, and can be found in the Bible in Luke chapter 15 verses 11-32. Basically I loved everything about it, the music, the lyrics and the vocals, what more can I say other than Seph Schlueter has now joined my favourites list.
Hopefully I shall be finding some more gems like this through my new radio app, I’ll keep you posted, meanwhile I shall leave you with ‘Running Back To You’ here.
I do hope you enjoy it as much as I did and I will be back soon with more great Christian music.
