I’ve decided to follow the internet trends and go viral this week, well not me personally, but the songs and artist that I am going to look at most certainly have.
Dance trends are a big thing at the moment, where a dance is made up to accompany a particular song and it gets picked up on social media, which then results in it going viral across the globe. There was one such dance recently made to a song in the mainstream that people of all ages were filming themselves performing. I think the Christian influencers out there decided it was time to make a dance that was ‘family friendly’ for want of a better explanation, it was made up to a Forrest Frank song called ‘Your Way’s Better’, here.
With the power of the internet it soon became a viral sensation. Here is a short compilation video of various people performing the dance with Forrest himself being the first one. This is just one of many, and it’s so good to see a good, wholesome song that kids can have fun with.
Before hearing about this dance craze I hadn’t come across Forrest Frank as a musician, so I decided to find out some more about him. He has actually become an internet sensation himself for much more than a dance. If you want to know a bit more about him before I begin, I have posted a testimony track that he has included on one of his albums here.
Just about two weeks ago, from the time of my writing, Forrest had a skateboarding accident as he was out playing with his son. This resulted in a broken back which required laying flat in bed for many weeks. During this time, as he had nothing else to do, he wrote and recorded a song called ‘God’s got my back’ here is the video he made whilst working on it. He has since recorded the song in full because, yes it went viral! You can listen here.
But there’s more, from a caption ‘turning lemons into lemonade’, that accompanied the previous video, came another song that he worked on with a band called The Figs. They saw the caption he wrote on social media, made up a fun song about it, Forrest saw the post, liked what he saw and together they have now released that song in full and, you guessed it, it went viral! it’s called ‘Lemonade’. you can listen here.
I know I’m repeating myself, but there’s more. The most amazing thing is the end of this whole scenario, after just two weeks the broken back has been completely healed, with no sign of any break at all. I’ll leave you with Forrest to tell you the story here, but wow, all I can say is God is good! Oh, and I’m loving the Forrest Frank music, hope you do too.
