I went in search of some new music this week. I have to say I got through a huge amount of songs, even though a lot of them were quite good, it was a while before I found something that I really liked and would be likely to listen to often.
Higher Power, is the artist that I settled on. They describe themselves as “A new artist delivering music that blends raw emotion with spiritual depth. Through heartfelt storytelling and uplifting melodies, their sound inspires resilience and connection, offering hope and empowerment.” It sounds good on paper, and I have to say it sounds even better when you hear their music.
Some of their songs are perhaps what I would call rock ballads, I personally like this combination, they are perfect to listen to when relaxing. The first song I have chosen is in that category and it’s called ‘Stronger Than The Storm’ here. The combination of the lyrics, music and voice are very powerful and personally I love it.
I particularly like the vocals on this next track I have selected, ‘Light The Way’ here , its slightly more up-tempo than my previous selection. I do really love the lyrics to these songs, they are so uplifting. This is by far my favourite song, it gets a 10/10 for everything. its going to be a song where I hit replay for quite some time I think.
The next track I have chosen is a similar style but the band have joined with another artist called Rev Theory for this one. The lyrics tell a beautiful story of how God is always with us and never fails us, it’s called ‘Never Alone’ and you can listen here.
Again Rev Theory joins the band on this next track. This is a lot more up-tempo and rocky. I really like how each of their songs tells a story. This one speaks of how God has provided a way for us to be free of our sin and shame. I love the line “you already paid what I still owe”, it sums up what God has done for us perfectly. It’s called ‘Let Me Go (So I Can Rise)’ and you can listen here.
For myself, I have found a real gem, listening to their songs is so uplifting. It’s just a constant reminder of what God has done for us and that He is always with us, and what could be better than having all that alongside outstanding vocals and music that I love.
I’m so glad I went exploring, there is so much good Christian music out there. I hope you enjoy them as much as I am!
