As I promised last week, there is new music coming today. I have been on a Spotify search again and come up with what I think is another great find. I appreciate they may not be to everyone’s taste but I really like them.
I don’t know what it is about this kind of music that I enjoy so much, it’s probably quite an odd choice for someone of my age but that doesn’t bother me. I have always found it quite motivating and find I can concentrate more when I am listening to it, must be the way I am wired. I think I might drive Stewart mad if I played it in the house anywhere other than in my ear pods though.
What kind of music am I talking about… well it’s Hard-Rock with a hint of Screamo. The band I have discovered is a Hard-Rock band from Northern Colorado called Remedy. They have released two albums and several singles and EP’s, and are currently in the process of writing more biblically related tracks as I speak, so I have something to look forward to there.
Funny story about this track here called ‘Searching for a Sign’, that opens their album ‘A Light In The Darkness’. I was trying to connect my earbuds to the TV in my craft room. I had them in my ears so that I could hear if it was connecting, then this eerie sound, with a what appeared to be a strange voice talking to me came through and I was wondering what on earth I had connected to, (because I was trying to watch ‘Masterchef’ at the time.) Anyway it turned out my earbuds were still connected to my phone not the TV and as I was listening to Remedy earlier it had carried on where it left off, silly me.
Two of the tracks I really like are ‘A Light In The Darkness’ here and ’99’ here. I love the latter particularly because of the concept of the song. It’s based on the bible passage here that tells if one sheep strays from 100 and gets lost, the shepherd will leave the 99 others to go in search of the lost one. We are all important to God.
As I said earlier this is obviously not to everyone’s taste but there are, young people especially, that live for this kind of music and what could be better than providing them with positive, biblical lyrics that can help them deal with the issues they face in life. I’ll close with a few more of my favourites ‘Trouble’ here, ‘Move’ here, and in video form ‘Breathe’ here, which has great lyrics so I thought it good that you can see them.
Thank you for reading and listening, I hope you enjoy Remedy, and can see the worth of these Christian bands in the music industry. I don’t know about you, but I am certainly looking forward to their next album.
