Welcome to The Church at Hiraeth and our third 2026 online service from the upper room. The hymn that Debby has chosen this week is What A Friend We Have In Jesus. It’s well-known, is a happy tune and conveys a powerful message.
We often talk about ‘real church’ and the fellowship that we attend is Bridge Church, which is walking distance from where we live. Last week, Debby led the worship in the Sunday service, and there’s footage from that in our own video.
Towards the end of last year, we said that we would show footage from the upper room and there’s a clip of a painting on the wall. It comes from South Africa and was a gift from Audrey Malan, the mother of Geoff, who has been involved in missions for many years.
Rejoicing follows weeping, is not only a hope to hold on to, but it’s in the Bible. It’s more than just a distant straw to clutch at but something tangible and real in the present.
Life is short? Well, that’s certainly something that’s very real and, the older we get, the less we need to be reminded. There are two important points made in that section of the service. Firstly, make your peace with God. Secondly, make the most of life.
If you’ve been blessed by this week’s online service, why not share it with others? You can send a direct link to someone you know, or publish as a general post on your own social media platform. Either way, if you do, thank you very much.
