I have decided to set myself a challenge to find an A-Z of Christian artists that I like, starting with ‘A’ this week and then ‘B’, and so on through the alphabet as the weeks unfold. I will switch it up from time to time and bring something different, but I thought this might be a good way of exploring new music.
Aaron Shust comes first with a track I really like called ‘My Saviour My God’ here, This particular track saw him awarded the 2007 New Artist, Songwriter and Song of the Year. Beautiful lyrics, vocals and such a catchy tune to the chorus. This has definitely made it’s way into my favourites.
Next up is Abandon, the founding members of this band started out by playing worship music in their church in San Antonio, Texas. I played quite a few of their songs before I chose ‘Hero’, here . I picked this partly because of the lyrics but also I really loved the vocals, he has such a beautiful voice. To be honest it was very hard to choose just one, they were all so good.
My final selection in the ‘A’ category is Ashes Remain with ‘Always Faithful’ here. Again, as with all of the music I enjoy, it has such beautiful, positive and encouraging lyrics. I find the words to the songs are so important, especially when I get them stuck in my head for most of the day after listening to them. What better than to be constantly reminded that God is always faithful, and our strength when we are weak, to name just two of the statements in this song.
This is why I love listening to Christian Music so much. There will always be a song to help us through whatever situation we may be finding ourselves in, and if we are just happily listening to music then there is plenty to enjoy there too.
I do hope you join me in my A-Z of Christian music, I have loved what I found this week, I wonder what gems I will discover next time.
