My musical search continues this week with the letter H, and I have two great bands to share with you today. First up, we’re going to have a little bit of country music with Harry Love And The Hell Stompers. I couldn’t pass them by with a name like that, and I wasn’t disappointed.
Let’s begin with my blog’s title track ‘G-R-A-C-E’. It tells the story of the prodigal son in the Bible and how he went away from home and squandered his money with wild living. Then, when he came to his senses, his father welcomed him back with open arms. In the same way God shows us grace and welcomes us when we turn to Him. Harry Love shares the meaning of Grace and introduces his song in short video here. I really like this song, you can listen to the full version here.
‘Thank You’, is my next selection and you can listen here. This song is a great reminder for us not to complain so much and to always remember to be grateful for what we have.
It was hard to decide on just one more but I settled with ‘Where Is Your Sting’ here. This is more of a country rock style, great song, and I thought quite appropriate for Easter that is coming soon.
The second band I’m looking at today is Hearts Of Saints. I’ve got a video for you to watch for the first song; it’s filmed while they were on location in Jacmel, Haiti, with Conduit Mission. The title is ‘Merciful God’ and you can watch here.
‘Out Of The Dark’ is the next track I have chosen. I’ve linked here a live acoustic session recording but also linked here, is the fully equipped rock version from the album ‘For All Of Us’. I always enjoy the raw acoustic performances, maybe because I play acoustic guitar myself, but I also love the recordings with all the trimmings, especially the bass guitar which is a big favourite of mine. It’s a really good song and I’m also very impressed with this band. I hope you enjoy and I wonder which version you will prefer?
I’ll leave you with a video of them performing two more of their tracks, ‘Over And Over’ and ‘Nothing Else’, on TCT’s music show sessions here. I always think its nice to see the bands perform, and these certainly give their all.
I have really enjoyed my new discoveries this week, some new amazing bands to add to my collection. What will next week bring, I wonder?
