Angler, rather an interesting title today, probably something you might think that is more suited to the angling blog that Stewart writes. Well, it is actually a drum and bass artist that I have found whilst searching for new music. To be honest, it was the name that made me listen to him in particular, because I was curious to see who he was.
His bio on Spotify says he is a born again believer, his profile picture is of him with an enormous fish, so that answered my question. Yes, he is an angler, but also a drum and bass artist. I had to listen more.
This is the kind of music that attracts a lot of young lads especially, and I think it’s so good to put out there excellent alternatives to the secular artists, that often have explicit lyrics that can be very dark at times and replacing them with clean and very positive themes.
I love what I heard and the message he gives out is so clear and very true. The track that stood out to me most is ‘Double Edged Sword’ here. It’s basically a testimony of his life and how Jesus changed him for the better, it’s also a plea for others to do the same and accept Jesus into their lives.
Another track that I loved is ‘Amazing Grace Spray Out’. The lyrics again are amazing, as the title says, and it even ends with a scripture. I listened with my headphones on, and musically, I really liked this one, plus the bass is brilliant. You can listen here.
I almost feel I should end with the phrase ‘Tight Lines’ this week (any anglers will recognise this), in honour of Angler. Any fishermen out there check him out, it’s something you can listen to while your’e out there fishing.
