Since my post on Angler last week I have been continuing to listen to drum and bass, mostly Angler, but also exploring to see what I could come up with.
One song in particular grabbed my attention and I thought it would make a good blog entry, especially with what we have been up to with various jobs around our home at the moment.
As the old saying goes, “A stitch in time saves nine”, and that is so very true. We have seen that to be the case in a few areas that needed sorting around our house recently.
We have a canopy roof over our back door that was leaking and causing the back door to deteriorate and also damaging the canopy itself.
We also had a damp patch on our downstairs ceiling that was coming from somewhere in the room above.
We had identified what needed to be done with the canopy and Stewart was able to spend a good few hours resealing and repairing the roof felt until it was as good as new.
Our skills were however not good enough to sort the damp patch, although we had tried a few things ourselves, like resealing and regrouting the shower (which actually does look very nice), but that didn’t solve the leak.
We called a plumber and after a lot of searching he managed to find a small leak that was dripping from a pipe that was located in the wall. After replacing a few sections of pipework the drip is no more.
Had either of these jobs been left much longer though the cost and the immensity of the repairs would have been so much greater. We definitely proved the old saying to be true.
Back to the music now and the song that grabbed my attention. It is by an artist called Collistar. I have been enjoying listening to a lot of these Christian drum and bass tracks, it amazes me how they tell a life story with the lyrics and make it sound so good, some of the phrases they use are quite genius, I think anyway.
The track ‘…A Stitch In Time Saves 9’ is a story that Collistar tells about his own life and how his mom prayed late into the night for him to come to God. She didn’t need anything else, just prayer. She saw bad things happening and crime and didn’t want that for him.
The stitch in time, saved his life. Now he can look back and see the same happening to others. definitely a more important stitch in regards to saving a life, than our home projects but they all have the same outcome, more damage if left alone. You can listen here.
