I have three more artists for you this week, who make excellent music, but also use their songs to help people who are dealing with life issues, that they themselves have dealt with in the past.
They all have amazing stories to tell of how God has helped them through some very tough times and, because they have been there themselves and come through, they are able to draw from their own experience and reach out and help others going through similar issues.
With all three of the artists that I have for you this week, we are back to my favourite genre of rock. First up is Seventh Day Slumber. I have been a fan of theirs for quite some time, and I have shared their music before, also giving a tribute blog to them and their work at the end of 2025.
This time I would just like to share a video of a live concert including a testimony from the lead singer, Joseph Rojas. It’s a bit lengthy and not filmed professionally but it includes some brilliant songs and shows where he has come from and how God changed his life for the better.
I’ll let him tell the story. He always takes the time, at their live events, to reach out to others who may be going through the same things he has in the past. You can watch here.
Magdalene Rose is next, and she follows on very nicely from the previous band because she is married to Joseph’s son, and drummer in the band, Blaise. He is also the drummer for Magdalene Rose. Her sound is very different and quite unique, as she adds a little screamo rock to most of her songs.
She again uses her own experiences to reach out and help others. On her bio on Spotify it says; “Magdalene Rose’s journey, however, is about more than just music. She uses her story to speak out about depression, self-worth, body image struggles, and self-harm, pointing others toward the love of God and a future of healing.”
In a world that is becoming increasingly broken I think it’s great that these artists go out and make songs that people love, but at the same time they are being a positive influence on their lives. I’ve chosen the track ‘The Heart That Bloomed After Death’ here.
Last, but by no means least, is Stephen Stanley. He has been a favourite of mine ever since I first discovered his music a few years ago. He struggled with extreme anxiety and most of his songs bring a positive message with help and encouragement for anyone in the same situation.
He will often make a video clip, that he puts out on his social media platforms, sharing some of his experiences and how he has found help through reaching out to God. I’ve chosen the track ‘Gonna Have To Trust You’, you can listen here.
I love listening to music, but when it can also help and encourage you, it becomes so much better. It’s great that these artists, and many more like them, use their God-given talents to reach out and help others, especially young people, as there are so many bad influences around and it’s nice that they can have some positive input in their lives.
I hope you have enjoyed listening this week and if you know anyone who is struggling, maybe share some of these songs with them. See you next time.
